I have limited knowledge with the inner workings of the US toploader. I can create a new video circuit and get perfect av out, but that's about it. Now looking at the AV Famicom I think there has to be a way to get the extra channels from the Famicom pin 45 to the system. Now i know you would have to assign the signal to a new unused pin, but I think there has to be a way. Unless there is physical hardware not included on the US version of the system.
If all you have to do is connect to the external pin #3 on the toaster, could we not follow the circuit where it enters the system and connect a straight connection to that point?? If we have to recreate the circuit that would be fine as well.
Of course you will have to convert a Famicom to NES converter to reroute the signal.
I hope some of you see my ramblings. This kept me up late last night thinking about it.
