Hey all,
I have already done the sound mod. To fix the sound.
I am completely at a loss on how to fix the vertical line issue.
The retro nes board is a top loader modeled after the Nes 2. Only much smaller.
So it suffers the same faint. Any help on this would be appreciated.
Did it have video issues straight out of the box? I've been working on a better and more reliable work-around/mod for the 'jail bars' issue on the FC and NES2: The problem may not be fixable on your system as it could be internal to the NOAC design but it could be caused by signal interference, but if it is repairable I may be able to help you.
First: Shoot a photos of the board, high quality & hi-res front, back, close-up, etc.. I have a RetroDuo somewhere and if you share the same PCB layout as my system I can check to see if it is even possible to do anything. If not, I can try to examine the photos, if you make them large and clear enough.
I've never seen vertical bars on a NOAC. Maybe they are caused by the RF, wich is unshielded
I will take it apart and get some photo's up. Yes, the lines on the nes side where there before I did the sound fix.
They are for sure nes2 Jails. I really don't know why they are there.
My retro duo is Version 2, I have ask a few others about there v2 and they dont have the lines on the nes.
My Snes side works great.

The 'VERY VERY rare' NES2 boards also have the same multi-out port as the SFC/SNES/N64. I'm pretty sure I've narrowed down the specific source of interference and exactly where its path brings it to cause the lines. As I said, when I'm positive, I'll post about it in detail.
The lines shouldn't exist on a RetroDuo; but they have to come from the same source, else they wouldn't look the same.
actually they found one that used rf. (altough that might be just uncommon and hence not documented. Vs very very rare.)
As far as I remember the retro duo has both S-Video and Composite Video, right?
If so, what type do you use? I heard that S-Video makes problems with the NES parts of the clone system.
I get the vertical lines on S-video and through the composite
Makes no difference.
Moderator note: for those wanting to discuss NES2 (top-loader) differences and what not, please note I've split that discussion off into a separate thread:
