I just tried out my new Power Pak, and cannot get it to work. I'm using a 4 GB CF II card with the POWERPAK120 software. When the cart is inserted into a system, not depressed, and powered on, the screen turns flat orange. When inserted and depressed, the system fails to power at all. I've tried different NESes (with and without modified CIC chips), and different power sources (official NES AC and filtered 9v DC).
Does anyone know what could be wrong? I only found one other thread for this problem on another forum, and the issue was not resolved there.

Thats odd. Especially since you tried different nesses. Did you try without cf card?

I just tried without the CF - I get the same result.

What normally happens when you use the power pak without a card? Anyone tried it?

card read error. Sounds like you got a defective powerpak.

I asked RetroUsb if I could send in my cart, I'll just wait for a reply. Guess its eprom carts till then...
