If you want to make money by composing NES music, I would recommend you to do it for Flash games, using FamiTracker. There is 8-bit trend these days, and the market is huge, so you may find paid work.

On the NES scene, so few games are made there, and so many talented composers that are eager to work on music for an actual NES game for free, and so few money made even from the most successful commercial homebrews, so I don't think you have any chances with this proposal.

Well, if I ever come close to releasing a homebrew NES game and if my musical inspiration runs out I'll keep this in mind

Since we're making games that will be available for free, it'd be hard to pay you though. But maybe you'd rather get paid "in nature" with some NES homebrew cartridges.

Yes, it would be great to see my work in a homebrew cartridge.
It would be a great payment to receive one.

And if I ever make some game that has your music, and then sell copies of the game in future, then I will be glad to pay you for the music, but not until it (if ever) become commercially available (whether or not it is NES/Famicom cartridge).

I may be interested in the near future. I'm not making an NES game, but rather an NES-styled series of games that will utilize NSF tracks. So Famitracker music is perfect.
