Famicom Music Sequencer v0.5 by quad
by on (#30686)
Back in 2004, quad released a Famicom music sequencer with little to no attention given to it. Through the magic of archive.org, I was able to trace the history of the pages until I found the site with the most up-to-date version of this sequencer. Unfortunately, archive.org has a mean little trick that corrupts all binaries -- but it's a stupid little hack that lops off the last byte of the binary. Fortunately, since the last bytes of this file are non-existent CHR, I was able to just add that 00 byte and voila it works.

Anyway, here's the binary. Please mirror it elsewhere because this is temporary hosting.

(...Also you guys know the method to obtain lost binaries on archive.org now. ;))

Have fun, guys.

And if quad ever comes back around, give him an extra 'thanks' this time.

I have the file mirrored in the public directory of my (severely incomplete) web page

Nice one, B00daW!

I think I remembering seeing you or someone mention this recently on IRC - and I'm glad you dug it up!

Very cool!

Not to be a jerk, but this doesn't seem well designed... I've gotten it to glitch out though (normal?) operation, and a lot of the controls make little sense... Without some kind of readme, this is all but useless.

(Edit: Haha, huge bump. Oops. I just discovered this, so forgive the momentary lack of intelligence on my part)

As far as I can tell you...

Up/down = changes the current note value.
Left/Right = changes the step (16 steps only).
B = it prints "L.1"
A = it prints "R.1" (left/right panning?)
SELECT = changes the channel.
START = restart the unstoppable music.
