Listen to Heat Man's stage.
Are you sure you're not listening to the (Game Genie) rip of it?
The difference is obvious:

I found the issue. Definately not usual to make sound-effects required to have the music play right.
Heat man's stage is still missing the downward frequency sweep.
Edit: I tried crashing Megaman 2, and it plays just like the NSF.
Mine plays fine. Just download from a reliable place. Mega Man 2 does not uses hardware sweeps if I remember correctly, so the pitch is changed by soft, so it's not your NSF player which is wrong. Does the pitch sweeps in other tracks play fine ? Maybe MM2 does not use hardware sweep exept in Heat Man's ?
I know it's a soft sweep. I know that it only plays properly if the game logic is actively running.
I don't hear the sweep in the new NSF at all, regardless of which player I use.
Every time I play that stage, I notice this. The sweep isn't really there until sound effects play RIGHT when that note starts- then either the sweep goes down or a cool echo-effect happens!
I felt inspired to work on this some more, and I think I may have it working right this time.
Tell me what you think.
I added some minor fixes to 2 other songs yesterday, while the site was down. This should have them working better, but I can't tell by listening.

but the password and game over musics are missing! Could you add them?
Is there any reason why mm2 needed to be ripped again? Was the old rip (like, say, the one at zophar or akumu) bad?
