DPCM in NT2 Tutorial?
by on (#2427)
Hello,

I have been writing music with Nerdtracker 2 for a while now and the only thing I haven't quite mastered is the mysterious DPCM channel. I have been able to get a few samples working and I have been experiementing for quite some time with the sample rates and so on, but I haven't got a sound that I liked.

I was wondering if anyone on this forum could give me some tips on how to get good results with sampling. A simple .NED file with some samples and the original non-converted .WAV files would help, since most of my Nerdtracker training was mostly through looking at other people's .NED files.

Thanks.

Alright, I can post some stuff that I've got. All my samples before conversion are saved .SMP format though. It's just raw 8-bit sample data. I used to do all my editing in FT2 (and now I have to run FT2 in dosbox, heh). Will that still be useful?

Also, the .SMP samples will be really low in volume. I doubt I still have the originals from before I changed that (since I was using Bananmos' sample converter).

I don't know what happened to a lot of my samples in original format.. seems I've lost track of them.
