Which homebrew games have iconic music?

I'm considering developing a rhythm game for NES. But I won't be able to write all the music myself, nor do I suspect that publishers of popular music would be willing to work with a retro micro-ISV on reasonable terms. Which homebrew games (for NES or any other retro platform) have iconic music?

I don't know how to answer your question directly, butI've got piles of semi-finished and finished Famitracker music that I'd be happy to let you use.

A few spring to mind where I still remember the music:
* Utaco
* Lizard
* The Tao of 007
* Super Bat Puncher

Don't know if they are considered iconic, but Alter Ego and Lan Master are one of my favourites.

Neotoxin has some really nice, melodic tracks.

I was going to suggest Popcorn, but now that I think about it... I don't even think the creators of Pengo obtained the rights to use the music. :?

Have you considered Korobeiniki or Kalinka? :wink: I know, I know. Typical :|

Not in any homebrew games, but these are strict 2a03 NSFs that I found exceptional:

8bit to the Moon (Nurv Cockyman)
King Chippo (Robert Kreese)
King of Hearts (Juan Linietsky)
Stress (RushJet1)
Wayfarer (Warlord)

I think these are all originals. :? If any of these aren't, let me know.

You'd definitely want to include your remix of the Mouser theme.

Same. Depending on what you're looking for I can potentially adapt the NES parts of a Marshall Art song or two to fit your needs.
