RBMA Lecture with Hirokazu "Hip" TANAKA
by on (#136910)
Last month Red Bull Music Academy did a nearly-2-hour-long lecture/interview with Hirokazu "Hip" TANAKA where he discusses details of music-making, hardware engineering decisions (regarding the Gameboy and Famicom), the history of Nintendo of Japan, music genres, and all sorts of other stuff. I figure folks would enjoy this:

At 5:50 in the video, he says that the Famicom only has one noise pattern, when of course the 2A03 has both white noise and periodic noise, at least in later revisions.

This is a perfectly good explanation for why he might remember it not having periodic noise.
