I'm going with DoS for this one, with NES as a close second.
You could've posted some YouTube links for people like me that are not familiar with the song. I can't vote for now, so I'll see if I can find some of them.
It's the song that plays when you're outside of towns in Castlevania 2 during the daytime.
Believe it or not, I prefer the Akumajou Dracula XX version of Bloody Tears over the original Dracula X version.

Frankly, I didn't like the song much. It has this great organ build-up, like something awesome is about to come, and then some simplistic catchy melody shows up, kinda disappointing IMO. Not a bad song, but the intro makes me expect something else.
The one in Haunted Castle is pretty good too, complete with very 80's-sounding drums.
I voted "other", because I love the version on the X68000 version:

And I also love the version on the PS1 re-release, the arranged version that is:

I think even though Castlevania Chronicles has techno-ish remixes of all the songs, I really like them! I also didn't know that there was a version of bloody tears on Symphony of the Night? Where does this play?
EDIT: For those of you who have not played the original X68000 version, don't mind the horrible mock-up display shown on the first video; I don't know what that's all about.
I'll always love the CV4 version of the song, though the SOTN version is damn good (bridges are a little cacphonous).

Me too, actually. One of the first CV games I really played was Dawn of Sorrow on the DS, and I remember this forum I visit was all hyped that it had a remix of Bloody Tears. I finally heard this iconic Castlevania song and was sort of let down. It just doesn't grab me.
"Beginning" from the first level of Castlevania 3 is my favorite CV theme! This video compiles most of its versions out there:

The one at 5:18 is pretty epic. But my favorite version ever is this remix, I'm not usually into hard rock but it's really well done:

they all sound more of less the same too me
- The NES version, of course. ^_^;;
I prefer
vampire killer. Others I like are:
The Tragic Prince from SotN.
Eneomaos Clock Tower from CoD
Anti-Soul Mysteries Lab from LoI
Abandoned Castle
Theme of Simon - Man, this one really sets the theme for Castlevania IV. You know the game is going to be awesome.
I've edited my origial post to add links to songs (what I have been missing heh stupid me) so that people can make themselves an opinion.
Yeah of course I also like the songs you mentionned phazmaztis. The big beef I have with the guy who makes those collections is that he didn't understand that the Famicom version of CV2 and CV3 had completely different music form their NES version.
I now chane my vote, to the hevy metal version
Generally I prefer 4-op FM chips like YM2612 or YM2151 over wavetable chips like the SPC. But the organ in the SNES version of Dracula X sounds really good, so I'll have to pick that one as my favorite. The PCECD version is also good, but it's basically the SNES version converted to CD-DA.

I will be just nitpicking on that part, sorry about that
The PCE version came out in 1993, way before the SNES version was made. So they reproduced it on the snes.
I'm sure (hope) you meant that it almost feels like they took the snes version and converted to CD-DA, which is not the case.
The SNES version has that muffled grandiose sound that dates so much SNES music (although when done correctly the SNES was the best system for music).
I like all the versions of the tune but my vote for my favorite would have to go to the PC-Engine CD version.
Yeah my vote goes to the PC Engine version, too. It sounds very professional .
Am I the only one that doesn't like Bloody Tears?
Of all the songs on the CV2 soundtrack, it's by far the worst one (unless you count the song that plays in Dracula's Castle), yet is the most popular/widespread/covered/remade.
Same with Vampire Killer. It's topped by pretty much every other song on the CV1 soundtrack (why oh why doesn't level 5's music get the attention it deserves), yet it's the most popular.
Anyway I voted for the SNES Dracula X version, but I didn't really listen to the 'others' posted.
To be honnest, this song is the only reason I still play Simon's Quest sometimes. (the other Simon's Quest songs are good too I find, and I love the one that plays in Dracula's Castle). I find Bloody Tears NES version to be definitely supperior to FDS version even if there's one less channel - although I prefer all others Simon's Quest music on the FDS.
I guess everyone likes different things.
