i find it a convenient 32 byte string for code testing purposes (with a space on either side)
Why that one in particular? I'd get really annoyed looking at it because it sounds stupid. Why not: "HELLO, THIS IS A DEMO STRING...."? What is that from, anyways? I've heard it before...
From a japanese MD/GEN game called Zero Wing I think... It had an intro sequence full of engrish text. That particular phrase became quite famous.
Other interesting phrases from it are "What you say?" and "Someone set up us the bomb".
Watch the video that probably started it all:

Why not use a string where all letters from the alphabet are present ? I guess there is quite a few common in every language out there.
The string "PACK MY BOX WITH FIVE DOZEN LIQUOR JUGS" contains all the letters of the alphabet, and is exactly 32 characters long (if you remove the spaces).

I was gonna say...
Anyone remember these lines?
"Uh-oh, The truck have started to move!!"
"I feel asleep"
I remember those two from The Ntsc Version of Metal Gear for the NES.
Also What was that thing on FFVII that Barrett said?
I think it was.
"If you hold the action button while pressing the directional button to run."
Yeah, I was doing a text hack on Mgear to fix the grammar. Also I fixed the names of weapons. They called some gun the Handgun. Big Boss said what it was so I changed the name to that, and I had the "Remote control Missile" changed to "Nikita Launcher."
Hmm... Maybe we can do a graphics hack and make it a cleaner game. And make it more fitting in the series. If you have played MGS3 then Big Boss should have known what Snake Was doing in the box. Remember on Metal Gear, Big Boss said "Cardboard, What's going on? Are you planning on moving or something."

Agreed.
Okay, well, Tokumaru, since we are being straightforward:
He could be the person in question. Got it. BUT! Being direct and forward with people is a little different online, in my opinion.
See, he could be Jargon, it could _not_ be Jargon. What I'm trying to get at, is the fact that, "who cares?" If he is, then take it up with the admins via PM. What this does is cut down on the drama factor. This 'drama factor' _does_ take its toll on the community regardless if people recognize it or not. This is why I'm a supporter of the "PM the admins" thing ahead of the "upfront like we're at a bar" thing.

Ouch, very well then...

They weren't deleted; they were split to
this topic. But I forgot to checkmark one of Roth's posts when splitting the topic, and unlike the phpBB 3 installed on tetrisconcept.com, the phpBB 2 installed on nesdev.com doesn't let a moderator undo a topic split.
