i guess it's getting a
makeover. it looks like a nice blend of the classic with some touch ups. i really like the idea of a 2 player mode.
Can't wait to play it! That game studio just went way up on my list of attractive employers after I graduate in a month or two. :)
Right, it's really cool. But... "network"? For downloading only?
Now, take this exact idea and create a NES MegaMan, much different than that PoweredCrUP version... -_-;;

Are you really serious ?

So what are Wii? Chopped liver?

my thoughts exactly.

Sort of... I guess in the long run, remaking NES classics wouldn't feel challenging enough. But it sure could be fun to do for a while...
Why do you ask? =)
Because there isn't many game developpers searching employeers arround, especially outside of japan.
As a plus if you say to someone "I work to design games" they will hate you no matter who the person it : gamers because they are jealous and non gamers because they think you are a stupid nerd.
It seems they're avoiding the 3D style in order to prior the nostalgic 2D gameplay. Well, it seems the 3D versions weren't welcome at last... or am I wrong? Rockman X7 is a good example of 3D'ing the old school gameplay... and X8 brought 2D again. Same for CastleVania titles for the Playstation2... and now we got a 2D for the PSP.
This BC version looks very promising by the way. I'm looking for its release.

Huh? I know there's a few here in Sweden, in the UK, France, Italy and of course the US. I was in touch with two studios back when I was looking for a job, but by the time they got their thumbs out of their asses and gave me an offer I had already taken another job (which I don't regret, because gamedev studios seem to offer crap salaries unless you're a senior <insert title here>).
I'll be sure to get the BC remake on my 360 once it comes out.
Well, as far I know the only Swiss game studio is called Epsitec, and it's not only a game studio, rather a general computer&stuff studio who released a few game. I don't think they are looking for tons of employeers, however, and there is probably no other game programming studio arround near I live.

Err, come again? The re-make of Bionic Commando was done by a Swedish game developer. And in an interview, they say they have plans to port more classic Capcom games

Well, I doubt my current thesis work (microlitography using GPUs) will sound more hip to the people you mention. But if being being hip is your top priority when seeking a job, I suggest you rule out programming altogether.

Really? I can't say I know how it's right this moment in Sweden but a few month ago I know at least Massive Entertainment, GRIN, DICE, Avalanche Studios and a few others were looking for people.

..and being a member of a NESDev message board.
As for these "makeover" games, i'm quite pessimistic because they often come out as cr*p.
They just don't make games like this anymore, period.

I like how it's mentioned that the
Nintendo console version of the game kicked back in the day; and, still, Nintendo is going to be neglected again by yet another series.
tecmo bowl 2008 is another one that might not have a wii release. tecmo hasn't been giving out too much info on this one, so i'll just have to wait and see.
