I'm sure we've all heard of him.
Just one thing. Last time I've talked with him he told me he's quitting.
Has anyone heard from him in a while? Has he really given up? If he did, that's seriously a hammer to the balls for me.
We're online buddies. I talk to him regularly on IRC.
He's working on a Kid Icarus editor. The whole drama that happened with his Luigi vs. Mario hack sort of burnt him out of ROM hacking. He might pick it up again in the distant future (though I kind of doubt it).
Exactly what happened that truly driven him away from it?
He had a password on his computer so his brother couldn't get on and mess up his stuff (which apparently he had done in the past). I guess his brother got frustrated and re-installed Windows on the comp, wiping the HD in the process. The most recent external backup of the hack was maybe 2 weeks old -- but it was a heavy 2 weeks (where a lot of work was done to the hack).
He was too frustrated to redo all the stuff he had just done, so he took a break for a while... but I guess after the break got so long he decided he just didn't want to go back to it.
That's my understanding anyway. This all happened a while ago and my memory blows.
This thread should be moved to the general forum.
ASM Romhacking doesn't count as NES Development?
Not discussion of ROM hackers.
