I agree, as long as the newbie ask them correctly with correct grammar and spelling.
I don't think grammar and spelling are so important, since a lot of people here (like you and me) are not native english speakers, and have a certain disposition to commit small mistakes.
The important thing for a person who wants help to do is provide enough details about the problem in the clearest way possible. I believe that the worst thing for a newbie to post is something like this: "OMFG!!1 my sprite dosnt shows up in my coolz demo!!1!! how do i fix tihs please???/??!1" and no actual details for anyone to provide any useful help. Not even reading back what they just typed (mental diarrhea) is pretty bad too. Fortunately, that rarely happens around here.

It is kind of funny, but would you like to point me to at least two places this is documented clearly (and how long it took you to find it)?
Please do.
What do you mean "please do"? He was asking
you to do that.

I beleive that now knowing about the sprite limit trancends the term 'Newbie'.
When I made my first demo some 5 years ago, I didn't know about that, and was shocked that when I placed 5 16x16 characters in a row, the last one didn't show up. I don't think i asked anyone about it, but eventually found out the reason.

I mean, every crappy NES document I have ever read has mentioned that small fact.
When you know
nothing about programming for gaming systems, even if you read all the docs avaliable from top to bottom, that's a lot of information, and this one detail about the sprites might just go by unnoticed.

I still think that it was hilarious, though.
It wasn't.
