Pretty cool! =)
Man, the earlier Megaman covers were baaaaad.....!
Yeah, hahaha. The first one is just horrible, and the second one is just confusing. I'll never understand why he has a visor on his helmet and a pistol in his hand!

Oh, god ! The european covers for Mega Man 1 and 2 are already pretty bad, but the american ones are even worse ! I couldn't imagine they would be THAT bad !! The american cover from Mega Man 3 is also quite bad, while the european one is cool. Only covers of Mega Man 4 and higher are good (the same in europe and america).

sure the american ones are bad.. but nothing beats the box art of Mega Man 2 PAL

Yes...a lot of US covers are horrible compared to the originals

Wow.. I've never seen that before... and I don't ever want to see it again! I guess I won't complain about the US one anymore, though

Well, that what I was saying the european box is bad, but I found the american even worse (or maybe I was just used to it).
The european box of the very first Mega Man isn't all that bad (it is only a little bad compared to the other boxes of MM1 and 2).
Well, at least the cover for the PAL version has correct proportions, good colors and all. The art itself isn't bad, just their concept of the Megaman world. The US cover for the 1st Megaman, on the other hand, is ALL wrong. The art is really crappy, as is the concept of the world.
From 3 on, they made a much more accurate representation of what's actually in the game, Although Megaman has a somewhat strange face and weird expressions. But I'd accept those without problems. If I went to a store to get a game and found the US cover of Megaman 1, I wouldn't even want to know what that was all about! I just can't believe that thing got printed!
Nintendo's early NES (U) covers had it right: graphics that represent more-or-less what the game actually looks like.
I always really liked Konami's cover art. Looks really good and are always surpisingly true to the game.
Was cool to see Tiger Heli box in hi-res again, many years ago I had a poster of that painting on my wall (came included with the game IIRC).
Well, Megaman has never supposed to be real-sized (he's "deformed" by nature, and that just look cute).
On the other hand, King's Knight cover looks real good, while the game itself is so bad.

I agree. I always enjoyed the slightly touched up pixel art.

Heck, one could just replace what was supposed represent the main character with a
hq4x'd Mega Man sprite and end up with box art that's an order of magnitude better.
Sure.
By the way, what is the best ? hq[n]x filer or 2xSAI filer ? I found hq2x tend to slow down emulators (so don't even talk about hq3x and hq4x), so I use rather 2xSAI, wich doesn't always look as good as hq2x.
