I'm one of these guys with missing text (fonts) after the Windows 10 creators update.
Yes, missing all the desktop text, menus and so on. Firefox and start menu works, but the rest is all gone!
I googled for some fix, but nothing. I don't own any custom firewall installed.
Suggestions?
Fortunately you can uninstall the creators update, but that's just delaying the pain.
I have no clue what's going on, all I can do is Google it and see that other people have the same issue.
Do GDI programs like TextPad or Notepad++ show text okay? Does the text stay okay if you pick a font like Segoe UI?
What about OLD mspaint? (winXP or earlier) That's usually my go-to program to test out how GDI would render text.
How about browsing the Fonts directory?
Firefox doesn't use GDI to render text, it uses Cairo.
If you can find any WPF programs, do those render text?
I tried the sfc /scannow command... and nothing.
I tried in safe mode - everything is normal, but bad again in "normal" mode.
Start menu isn't affected, but ALL the apps are.
EDIT: I removed a "plug-in" named WarSaw, used by netbanking. This hell gave me trouble in the past. It's used for "security" in internet banking.
