anybody put a fat ds's backlit screen in gba original or game gear? if not then could someone do that the reason i ask is the pixel refresh is the best on that screen.
Different size, resolution etc. Won't really work.
but someone did it with the ds lite screen so how is it not possible?
Did what with the DS Lite? Citation?
Game Boy Advance: 240x160 pixels
Nintendo DS Lite: 256x192 pixels
You'd need some sort of circuit to insert the black windowbox pixels at the top, bottom, left, and right.
I believe what he meant is that the original DS LCD has been transplanted into a DS Lite. Why in the world you'd do that is beyond me.
If he means the DS Lite LCD has been used in a GBA, the main problem is the physical dimension differences. If you feed it a signal as-is, I can almost promise you that it'll just be a 240x160 box in the top-left of the LCD, with the border on the right and bottom being garbled repeated lines from another frame or some other don't-care-condition anomaly.
no i meant game gear so it's possible to probably use a ds fat screen for it

Don't need to replace the full screen there, just the CCFL.
You should be able to get/build a replacement LED strip fairly easily/cheaply, given how large that CCFL seems to be.
with the gba i want a backlit screen with perfect pixel response time
You can't just do that. If you want that, learn some about video signals and how displays are driven.
so there no mod to get backlit screen to have the best pixel response time?

I think this question came up previously. Here's an earlier thread about it:

Espozo's reply
here is the right answer, use a GBA SP screen. Apparently the mod kits are harder to come by now(?). What is your budget? You can find premodded systems
on ebay.
no i meant a backlit screen with great pixel response time because the sp 2 has lower pixel response time instead of great

It's not happening.
you mean no one has done it or no one can do it?
No one can do it and make a profit.
this sucks
Digging up this old post...
and speaking of "no one can do it and make a profit" ...
Someone did a very small run of a few custom-modified CGBs to scale the video up and use some kind of comparatively newer screen:
