Am I the only one who prefers the pixellated "mosaic-like" look?
With a good pixellation shader to correct the aspect ratio (minimum blurring, practically impossible to notice at 5x scale), I usually agree.
Main problem is that many effects just don't work on modern LCDs. The Genesis and Neo-Geo use dither patterns to simulate translucency, whereas the SNES interleaves two images vertically and relies on color bleed to do the same.
Though sometimes I do feel nostalgic for some screen curvature, phosphor mask/bloom, and scanlines. And Zelda 3 seems to be the only game absolutely -designed- for HQ2x.
