My focus is on my homebrew game, so I don't really know anything about how emulators work. But I was wondering a bit ago how sprites are handled and wondered if any modern emulators take advantage of hardware acceleration at least for sprites or perhaps even for the background, or if most emulators just use a framebuffer and have hand-rolled code for writing all pixels, background and sprite, to it.
