The Double Dribble test?

Anyone have a copy of this game?

This game is the ultimate test of cycle count accuracy, and DMC cycle stealing.
It's using an RNG which runs repeatedly until NMI snaps it out of its grinding.
After waiting at the title screen, it randomly selects a dunk animation to play. You get different animations depending on which emulator you use.

If you run it on hardware, does it always consistently pick the same animation sequences every bootup, or does it vary? (Don't do any soft resets, only power button presses)

If it is consistent on hardware, which emulator matches it?

I got a backwards dunking animation first time. Second time it was mirrored.
All testing done on a famicom av with powerpak.

I think i have it somewhere here.. although it's PAL if that's ok?
Can try it when I find it.

Ok. tried it.
Seems to be random. First time was a backward dunk coming from left, next was right, then right, then some one hand dunk from right, then backward dunk from left again.

Edit:
Did another test but this time I unplugged the power and pressed the power button to be sure that it had no power or something. And this time like 9 out of 10 it was backward dunk from left (I only got one other type of dunk and that time I wasn't 100% sure I pressed the power button before replugging the adapter).

I bet a power pak would mess it up, since it wouldn't be run from a clean slate.

Well like i said.....I got 2 different animations.....so its stil randomish.

Probably because the powerpak is messing with the startup state. =P

Would testing the FDS version would be useful? That's the only version available in japan if my memory is good.

Probably not, because there's no DMC voice shouting out "Bubble Bibble", and no dunk animations.
