can the ppu do make more than one step in two cycles? i mean if cycles 64-255, 192 / 64 sprites = 3. Does it take 3 cycles to evaluate and copy to secondary OAM?
It takes the PPU 2 cycles to evaluate a sprite. If it's in range, it then takes a further 6 cycles to copy it to secondary OAM.
