Mapper 215 cleanup
by on (#219014)
I'd like to clean up Mapper 215 by assigning submappers:
  • Boogerman moving to a Mapper 114 Submapper 1. Like The Lion King and Aladdin, it has an NROM register at $6000 and a fixed pattern of scrambling MMC3 stuff, but the pattern is different.
  • UNL-8237 staying at Mapper 215 Submapper 0, having the non-MMC3 registers only in the $5000-$5007 range.
  • UNL-8237A moving to a new Mapper 215 Submapper 1.

Emulator support right now is uneven, incorporating size and CRC checks, justifying such a move. I'd like to solicit your thoughts before writing a test ROM.

Time for solicitation is over. Now we have test ROMs.

With no objections having been raised, I consider this proposal approved, and have added it to the (sub)mapper wiki pages.
