Hey guys!
I have a problem:
I want to make a german Earthbound cart with an INL board and the patched game is 6MB big.
The english 4MB version runs perfect on a 4MB INL board,
but there is no 6MB board, so it needs to be padded/expanded.
I couldn't run any 6-8MB game on my INL boards...
so i guess my expander (lunarexpand) doesn't work for this.
the game runs in emulators (6mb and 8mb padded version).
but in the original console i only get a black screen.
the rom is region fixed and cracked via ukon64.
any help would be nice!
Too little information. What board is it?? Any photos?? What patch are you applying on the rom?? What memories are you using??
As long as I'm concerned, games exceeding 4MB size are considered ExHIROM games and I'm ASSUMING the ROMs' /OE pins are connected wrong to the MAD-1 on the board since in case of ExHIROM games, they have to be reversed (/OE of first ROM has to go to MAD-1 pin #01 and /OE of the 2nd ROM has to go to MAD-1 pin #16, swapping the ROMs on the board may also fix the problem) but I'm not sure of that unless you provide us more information about your project
i use all new Infinit NES Lives . com boards.
and its the patch: EarthBound (Mother 2) [f][T+Ger1.20_Spade]
"In emulators" — snes9x and zsnes aren't a valid verification. Does it work in bsnes=higan?
What are "Infinit NES Lives . com" boards??? What exact board are you using?? Any photo or exact info please....

Probably one of the
Hi/LoROM boards. Which capacity did you order?
Just for poops and grins, I've attached 6 MB and 8 MB test ROMs that display the mapping that your uploader is producing. Try writing each of them to your card.
Code:
008=081 400=080 408=081
018=083 410=082 418=083
028=085 420=084 428=085
038=087 430=086 438=087
808=001 C00=000 C08=001
818=003 C10=002 C18=003
828=005 C20=004 C28=005
838=007 C30=006 C38=007
i have 4MB and 8MB boards.
earthbound patched in german is 6MB big, so i have to pad them to 8MB
i can get lorom games to work with the latest firmware (they are automirrored)
but hirom don't have that support yet
From that picture, it appears you'll have to swap the first 4 MB with the second 4 MB.
