You mean your FME-7 ic is made by SunSoft?
If so,you must use the 29 serial flashs, can't use 39 serial.
byemu, I think you missed that he's using the InfiniteNesLives (INL) flash board and the Kazzo programmer. He's not hacking up cartridges.
He just needs to figure out how you use the software to program the cartridge. It's not very easy to use if you have no idea what you are doing. You'd assume you could just select the NES file and it would do the rest, but this is not so. Last I remember you had to split the ROM into PRG and CHR pieces and program them individually. Plus you had to send the right "erase" file first. There is a guide somewhere I think. Or atleast text instructions.
Thanks,
Can you point me where is the main thread for the NES Games,
I have successfully program SNES games using the INL board but never work with the NES Board,
Question: Is the same as program any INL SNES Board..?
Thanks again
Programming NES boards is different. You have to select a header file that erases both PRG ROM and CHR ROM, and then individually program the PRG and then CHR files. To get the PRG and CHR files, you have to split the NES file properly for each game. You also may need to copy the PRG or CHR data to fill up the flash.
So to start, you'd start the program INL-retro prog.
With the programmer plugged in and the NES board plugged in properly (be sure it faces the right way in the connector) you need to select "header" and pick the file that says ERASE_PRGCHR.BIN. Then you'll need to hit the "write" button and you should see the LED change as it does the erasing process. Erasing NES carts doesn't take as long as SNES. Just be sure that the erasing is done before continuing.
Once it is erased you need to have your split PRG and CHR files ready. If you don't have them you can probably file a tool maybe on romhacking.net that can take a NES file and output the PRG and CHR files. Then in the program you need to change from "header" to the correct PRG size. The size should be the size of the flash on your cartridge, and the source file should be the same size too. If your game isn't the same size as the flash on the cartridge, you just copy the data to fill up to the full size.
The same process basically is done for programming the CHR-ROM.
Hopefully this helps you. If you can't figure it out, post in detail where you are having problems and the exact steps you've taken and where you think you are having trouble.
Thanks
The programer show this error every time i click write "Error : -116"
when i select the ERASE_PRGCHR.BIN
I have manage to make the split file but im stock there
can you help me here thanks
I manage to resolve the issue,
I do a firmware update to the one named “retro_programmer.hex”. And use the INL retro-prog v1.1beta program. Clear the header with the ERASE_PRGCHR.bin, then write the PRG and the CHR of the game.
And work fine
(If got an error remove or reset the programmer)
Thanks..!!
