Good fun so far and those damn ladders get me every time.
there is no problem with the ladders, you have to stick to the rules - going in the right direction towards the ladder, hold down the D-PAD up / down button . It is very convenient.
For example. I go to the right and I see a ladder reaching the floor above - Walking toward her holding the DPAD right and up at the same time.

Yes you're correct this makes climbing ladders very easy thanks.
This game will not be finished, it remains in the phase of what it is now. The engine was weak and does not make sense to correct him . But maybe I'll make a new MC game on a solid engine .
Just tried this out on an Everdrive.
Micro Knight didn't work on the hardware, so I didn't get to play that one unfortunately.
As for the other demos, one thing I noticed is that if you're over the location of a disappearing brick when it reappears, it holds you in place there until the block disappears. I'd expect it to force an eject like in Mega Man.
Yes I know about it. I will try to change that, but for now this early version and I hope a lot of change for the better .
New Engine updated.
Early stage demo, still plenty of time to complete.
Hero SPR project:
I have tested the lasts updates. The playthrough is challenging. Waiting for new updates.
I lack motivation and time, but I hope someday will finish and something will come out interesting. Today to remember a bit of code, I made simple maps with keys and doors. You also need to skillfully use the green "clone" to get green key below (it will eventually be something else, but on a similar principle to use in the gameplay) New demo, update:
Very challenging
Update. Now more like the real "demo" of the game. The first two maps are a complete example of the final game. Each map also has a secret level. Generally difficult, but it is possible to complete the first two chambers with their hidden rooms WITHOUT LOSS OF LIFE (And collect four coins that are there). You just have to analyze every move. The rooms behind the green door are incomplete and only for the test you can visit. "PAUSE" in the game (START BUTTON) is not complete - it goes back to the beginning of the game (but I do not delete the status of found keys or gold).
I liked the puzzles but it's really hard to solve them with limited lives. Are you going to add a continue feature?
I like the action/puzzle concept. The challenge was pretty good, hard but interesting. (although some instructions might help, I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out how things worked).
The big problem, though, was the physics/feel. It was too floaty for me. It made the whole thing feel a bit off.
I downloaded and played the game. I like the concept of solving puzzles and I like the game play. But out of all my attempts I was never able to solve any puzzles or beat any levels.
I have included a video of my game play because it will give you (the developer) invaluable feedback.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmO43wBGt5wThanks for the video. I also grew up on NES, but in the first place was the Atari 2600 as my first console. I did not expect my game to be so difficult. However, the idea of the game will be in the final game. Will be hard, and you will have to think a lot (Some people finished easily, some did not catch what and how to do).
But I must say that there are people who have completed the first two chambers together with the secrets.
Quick walkthrough:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBRSUWdpcYMAt the end of the film shown entrance to the second secret chamber, was added separately because I overdone her placement - it is too difficult to jump (it will be changed)
Wow, yes those puzzles can be solved, but currently for me its very hard to have the intuition to solve them. You might want to make some tutorial levels first before doing some difficult ones such as the ones in this demo.
One thing that I do not understand is the random teleport ability which seems to happen out of nowhere.
random teleport ability? Can you describe more precisely? Strange, ROM tests on the console (not everdrive, but true 100% unrom buard) and even on the real console I never noticed that something like this came up (Or ... on the NTSC console so it happens, at my PAL is ok).
In your video that you posted at the 10 second mark the player is teleported out of nowhere to another level.
These are secret entrances and levels.
edit: update download
V1.0 vs 0.99 - Some levels have been designed to be easier. Full Game.
