New BGB feature coming soon!
by nitro2k01 on 2013-04-01 (#110403)
Announced today, the next version of BGB will contain super-accurate Gameboy emulation on the transistor level and a CPU viewer to see what's going on inside the CPU. Pretty cool.

Awesome! But are they doing the same thing for video? Usually video and sound are much harder to get right than a CPU. Either way, this mode must be really slow, right?
I wish someone would do the same for the NES, with completely accurate CPU and PPU, even if it ran at like, 1 frame per minute.

That'd depend on making a C port of Visual 2A03 and Visual 2C02. Otherwise, you run into the problem of needing a 64-bit web browser, and those won't catch on because 64-bit browsers can't run existing 32-bit plug-ins.
On the other hand, it could be an AFD joke to capitalize on Visual 2C02's popularity.

I think it needs to start with a molecular-level emulation of the controller buttons. This would really help with latency, for one, and get the feel just right. This is the most important part of any system, and I've only realized it recently, after wasting years on audio.

This sounds great! I can't wait to totally not be disappointed by this being an April Fools joke!

Shit, I keep forgetting about April fools'... I hate this day! XP
Still, I maintain my wishes for an NES emulator with transistor level accuracy, no matter how slow it is.
