I have the ROM I was looking for, (NES port of Doki Doki Panic) But there is no Mapper info. Guessing it's private? I don't know.
Still, does anyone have the specs/info on Mapper #103?
Look at the source code to Nestopia if it supports that mapper you should be able to find the information you need there.
- Nope, it hasn't. Did you check the ASM code for writes/reads? Perhaps it's possible to figure out how that mapper works. I couldn't find anything about 103.
FX3: Sorry, I can only do stuff like that through Emulators with a Debugger or something like a document in the format of Disch's Mapper docs. The only available emulator for mapper 103 is NEStopia, And it has no debugger or anything.
Maybe if I can suggest a debugger version over at NEStopia forums, It will be up and going.
And yes, I already know about NEStopia. It works, but no debugger!
- So, you "located" the mapper 103 inside the sources? Good job. ^_^;;
It is also called board BTL-2708 according to NEStopia, I will make it easier by making a new document for it using disch's document writing format (The way he does explain mappers sounds easier for me to do). I do not know what it has in store for me, nor will turn into! Just need to see how it does.
UPDATE: Disch is creating a document, But I have to give him a copy of my ROM to research on the mapper. So scratch the document for me, Disch is working on it himself by now.
- Could someone post the CRC32 of such game?
CRC: 8B692CBF
SHA-1: 64D3AB894788A9670EF4B3E3F05A45ECEF4ACC45
Do you think we could convert that hack to work on mmc3 or something else ?
Disch,
Could you update the comprehensive file you have here:
http://www.romhacking.net/docs/362/? I'm sure you've written more in the last 3.5 years, and putting them all together would make your work easier to find. I very much appreciate these docs and just want everyone to be able to access them easily. If you have another location for the mapper docs, please let me and the admins of this site know, as the above link I gave is what's in the wiki. Thanks.
I agree! Disch's work is awesome!
Wow, what a strange mapper
A little OT, but does anyone have a doc on mapper 206 (Gauntlet)? I can't seem to find anything about it.

Gauntlet uses the DRROM board which uses an MMC3 mapper, which is usually mapper 4. In fact, all the Gauntlet roms I've seen are marked as mapper 4 in the iNES header. However, this site's wiki says "the iNES format assigns mapper 206 to DxROM." See
http://bootgod.dyndns.org:7777/profile.php?id=473 and
http://wiki.nesdev.com/w/index.php/DxROM Hope this helps.
I think the "NAMCOT 109" is the same thing as a MIMIC-1, the predecessor to MMC3 with (to simplify things a bit) ports $A000-$FFFF missing.
Q seems to agree.
