When I first read this thread, I thought the title was meant to be a pun(like that Abobo game) on the Commando series (including Bionic Commando) of games, without noticing which forum section this was in.

Although a Zelda II style game that uses the Hookshot instead of a jump would be fun. Perhaps I should make one once the weather cools off a bit.
