Perpetually stickied thread?

Can't figure out why this thread is stickied in the homebrews forum? It's a cancelled project AFAIK and there hasn't been anything significant said in that thread in years: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=11576

I've been wondering about the "New 8-bit heroes" ad on the main page too. I understand why it's there, but for how long will it be there?
