I found a problem: nensondubois isn't banned yet.
He's obviously trolling, but he's doing it in a "nice" way. Like he'll apologize and say he'll stop, but he doesn't. He's been evading bans by re-registering under a different nick (at least twice already). He posts annoying random crap, he spams people with random PMs, and pretty much everything that comes out of his mouth is a blatant lie designed only to egg us on.
He's been here for about 6 days and has almost 100 posts -- of which a grand total of zero have any substance. It seems clear to me that he's one of these people that trolls messageboards by being a total douche, but avoids being banned by not *technically* breaking any rules.
(yeah I know this doesn't really belong in this forum, but I didn't know where else to put it =P. Gen discussion maybe?)

One thing that is for his defense his that he uses caps letters and puncts now, so there IS some improvement in his behaviour, while I'm unsure if this is enough.
I may have done something wrong I admit that but, we all make mistakes and I have learned the bad things I did.

I generally don't place bans on the request of one user, though if enough people insist that one user's behavior is sufficiently disruptive to the environment of the board, then I'll do something about it.
A bunch of people complained about the original incarnation "donknotts" (and rightly so, as it acted like a complete idiot), so I banned that username (and then took out an entire IP range for the second one that showed up).
If you think this 3rd incarnation is still being a disturbance, then post your opinions here.

Like I said I'm now an honest poster. I have cleaned up act a great deal.
As long as nensondubois stays under command of General Stuff (with his 'You can talk about anything that you want to on this board.' rule: means nonsense is allowed too), his existence here is 'legal'. If people don't like his posts, they can skip them.
My less objective opinion is that I completely agree with Disch.
My vote is to ban him.
The fact that he registered a mirror accond for the second time, and denied he was Donknotts, wich he is, by saying "is that his first name or his last name ?" is the best argument to ban him.
Additionnaly, he posted lot of crap and little NESdev related stuff. Instead, he faked being interested in some projects involving the GB and the SNES, wich he has probably few knownledge about. He posts either crap or lies. He don't stop to apologise, but he didn't ask one SINLGE Nesdev question, and didn't make a SINGLE post longer than one line.
I think he should be banned, and anyone who makes lots of crap posts nonrelated to NESdev by spamming the general stuff board with stupid one-line posts should be banned in the future, because there will be most chanches it will be the Xth reincarntation of Donknotts.

Anywhere I don't know why you even suscribed to the forums, considering that you didn't do any NESdev stuff, and the fact that you already get banned twice should really hold you far away of this site. Yeah. Anyway, nensondubois/donknotts, what is your reason to be here? I'm just curious... Most of us discuss the NES, different aspects of it. We actually try to exchange information, but although you claim to be working on NES related projects you do not discuss anything about them. You only say you are working on them.
So I wonder, what exactly do you want with this place. I know there are many trouble makers, that seem to get a real kick out of annoying users of random boards, and, so far, that's what you seem to be.

If you must know why I registered is to aquire information to create a multi gaming emulator for gb,nes,snes,and genesis. So far I only got a milestone done. I just needed some answers on a few bugs within the emulator and it will also emulate almost all aspects of sgb but don't expect it being done anytime soon wiyhin about a year or more.
There you go again, claiming to be working on an NES-related project but not actually telling us anything about it.
You also haven't even proven that you're telling the truth and actually working on it - create a website somewhere and post some of your work, and we'll be slightly more likely to believe you.
Oh, and claiming you can't make a website is not a valid excuse - there are plenty of free places that will let you at least temporarily post something, and you said you made one before so you should know how to do it.

You're right that if you're new on a board, it's a good idea to infer an approximation of the pecking order from the join date. But as you learn your way around, you may find that join dates can deceive.

The worst thing (by definition) is something which falls just shy of the line dividing acceptable from unacceptable. Watering down a technical discussion board in a way tailored to narrowly avoid objection is not acceptable. Like with people posting in other languages in a way that's disruptive, there are plenty of other boards on the intarweb where random keyboard input is accepted, and if one needs more immediate attention, IRC is there to serve.
And please don't place any value in the above simply by who wrote it. Screw pecking order. I'll flame someone as an individual and accept whatever the community decides.

People do speak many diverse languages by which this helps them not only learn about Nesdev but may also help with english skills and social skills as well.

Does anyone really think that donknotts did anything in the sense of devloppement of an emulator ? I really don't think so. He's just a liar, and not only did not show anything of his work, but also did not say any problem he encounter with his work nor asked any questions. He just kind of answered other peoples questions the wrong way and make about every topic turn wrong.
And, anyone who is a newbie and that has done work should be proud to show his work to more experienced people. If he just say he worked but don't say a word on it, then it is a lie.

I'd be embarassed of my first posts on the nesdev mail list, when I was 15 or 16 I'd never written any decent program before and didn't know all the 6502 instructions but I was bragging about how great the game I was working on will be. I don't have anything to show for it, but that doesn't make the work and my experience from it any less real.

Yeah, anyone can always receive messages.
As far as permanency, nothing last forever. Even the mountains erode away. But less cryptically, I suppose it would be re-evaluated eventually (and we won't need to be reminded, unless you have some kind of extreme PM-related emergency, which sounds kinda amusingly improbable for anyone to have anyways, heh).
