So there are various instructions I've found on the web regarding converting a SNES to PAL/NTSC or installing a switch.
Most say you need to lift up pin 24 of PPU1 and 30 of PPU2, and solder a wire to each, etc.
I've found that the much easier way to do it is to use an exacto knife and remove the trace to pin 24 of PPU1 right in front of the pin. There should be 3 pins connected together there, and on an NTSC unit they're all GND.
It turns out that pin 24 is connected to pin 30 of PPU2 through some traces on the PCB (underneath PPU1).
This makes it very convenient to simply solder a wire to pin 30 of PPU2 and then connect your switch and resistor to that.
Not sure how a PAL SNES PCB is, but I'm sure its similar.
