Game Doctor SF7 - BIOS update and save fix?
by on (#37399)
Hello,

I had a couple of questions about the GDFS7:

1. What is the most recent BIOS revision of this dumper, and is there any way to update it?

2. The GDSF7 seems to have problems reading and writing SRAM from carts exceeding 20Mbit. There is an IPS fix for this problem, but is there any permanent solution that does not involve modifying the game?

Thanks in advance.

1. 7.11 officially. You can update it with an EPROM eraser and programmer.

2. What do you mean? Reading SRAM from actual cartridges? If so, I don't think this is possible to fix. If not, and you mean you can't get saves working with cartridges emulated by the Game Doctor, this can be fixed by using a proper header generated by uCON64. The old save "fix" IPS just patches the header without taking actual SRAM decoding into account.
