Hi guys! I want to translate my Tales of Phantasia, I read many times how to build a repro using a particular pcb: 1J3M-20 but I want to use the game original pcb as the donor (LJ3M-01).
I do have some eeproms (29F033) and Mr Tentacle adapters ( https://www.tindie.com/products/mrtenta ... m-adapter/ ) ready to use, but I've been reading that in order to use tales pcb as donor the eeproms+adapters goes in a different way, eeprom 1 goes on top and the 2nd one goes at the bottom.
Could you tell me if I'm doing it right:
Check that rom has no header.
Apply the translation to the rom.
Split the rom in two parts ( I use an free app, File Splitter), the app generates the two files, first one is 32mbit and 2nd one is 16mbit.
Burn and verify files as normal.
Solder eeprom A 32mbit in the top (U1) and the eeprom B 16mbit in at the bottom (U0).
I believe there is no need to rewiring anything or remove pin 33 from the header on the 1st eeprom??
Does it look good?
Thanks for your support!
