Hello everyone,
I am into AI algorithms and to make it funnier i thought it would be nice to apply algorithms to NES games. I can program in c, c++ and java ,but i have no idea about ROM, RAM etc..
I installed the FCEUX emulator and the Lua language. I know that this is the starting point but this is the only thing i know I need to read values of the environment to build my algorithms (i.e. the score, the position of the enemies etc..) Reading around, i see that i need to read from ROMs and RAMs in order to get values, but i have no idea what this means. Is there a tutorial or do you have any suggestions? I found this tutorial http://nintendoage.com/pub/faq/NA/index ... _out.html# .. is that a good one? It explains everything?
Suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks
