Hello. I'm pretty new myself. Recommend you start reading the docs
under the NES section on
http://nesdev.com. I also
recommend you taking a stab @ 6502 Assembly. There are lots of docs
on the net on how to learn 6502. All the original nintendo games (as far
as I know) were written in 6502 ASM. I've never done anything with NES
dev and C++ or java. Not sure if you can even do much with those and
the old NES. I know they have compilers for basic but I've heard trying
to do it with basic or C doesn't produce results like 6502 does. Like I
said, I'm no expert by far.
